In the NSK Nakanishi ROTUS Series there are 2 vane type air motors (vane motors).
The disc motor has two-way rotation, good torque and infinitely variable speed via a knob on the housing, unlike most turbine-driven micro grinders which usually have a fixed speed.
As the vane motor is very small and highly variable, clean air and proper lubrication are important to ensure reliability and longevity, however, if this is taken care of*, ROTUS motors are extremely durable and long-lasting for their size.
