Fini HRS, Heat Recovery System

HRS is a system that recovers heat generated by the compressor that is otherwise vented away and lost, with an HRS the heat is instead transferred to hot water, which can be used for heating or as hot water in industry or in the tap.

A compressor that compresses air is unfortunately quite inefficient, much of the energy used by the compressor in the form of electricity, petrol or diesel just becomes heat.
Historically, when energy has been cheap and wasted, this heat has simply been ventilated away so that the compressor does not overheat, at best using the ventilation air to heat the premises in winter, but in many cases not even that.

With an HRS unit, up to 90% of the heat emitted by the compressor can be recovered, most of it (75%) is recovered from the oil that cools and lubricates the compressor, the rest (15%) is in the compressed air itself.

Fini's heat recovery system HRS can be used on all oil-lubricated screw compressors.
